Within the scope of our research titled “Women’s Religious Belongings and Their Ways to Survive Violence”, we aimed to understand the ways women who practice religion in different ways approach violence against women, if and how they make religious references in their narratives, and the complicated relations between gender-based violence and social norms. We also wondered about the ways women deal with violence, which institutions or ideologies showed solidarity with them or posed an obstacle for them during the experience of violence. Through this research carried out collectively by a group of women, Havle Women’s Association aims to expand and spread the information produced on violence against women in Turkey, shape its own advocacy activities, and thus contribute to the feminist movement.
